PR Network for AEGEE in cooperation with the Network Commission

PRWG understands the importance of networking and connecting PR in AEGEE on European and local level. This is why PRWG decided to establish a PR Network with help of the Network Commission. The basic principle of the PR Network is to have key people also known as PR Subcommies who will connect PR on European (PRWG) and local (antennae) level. Each PR Subcommie will be responsible for the area of his/her Network Commissioner.

The basic tasks of PR Subcommies include:
- help for antennae doing their local PR activities;
- coordination of all communication to antennae;
- reporting requests of antennae regarding PR to PRWG;
- bringing strategy, ‘corporate’ vision of AEGEE and European PR innovations from the European level to the local level;
- serving as recruiting for PR on the European level;
- visiting PR events (like LTCs or PR actions) of a PR Subcommies’ neighboring antennae as a trainer/advisor/guest.

For this purpose, 2 communication platforms for responsible representatives of PRWG, NetCom and PR Subcommies was created: a mailinglist NETPR-L and a group ‘AEGEE PR Network’ on Facebook.

We are looking for further cooperation with antennae and fruitful work of current seven PR Subcommies.

If you are also interested in becoming a PR Subcommie, please feel free to contact the board of the PRWG anytime (prwg-board-l@aegee.org). In particular, the following regions of Europe still needs to be covered: Balkans, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Future cooperation between the PRWG and the Comité Directeur

In few days the new Comité Directeur will start into their term which till take till the Fall Agora 2009. Together with the CD Eskisehir-Aachen, the cooperation between the bodies went very well. An interim PR-Plan was designed and many activities were started and are still ongoing. Within the CD to come, the task decision for public relations looks as follows: Tena will be in charge of the internal communication while Robin is responsible for the external communication, external representation and the webpage.
During the strategic meeting mid of August in Brussels, Nadine had the chance for a chat with Dragan, Robin and Tena. Subject were the publications in AEGEE but also the cooperation with the PRWG in the future. The Comité Directeur will think about their expectations towards the PRWG and will communicate that soon.
PRWG is looking forward to a good cooperation and many successful activities in the future! :-)

AEGEE-Krakow will be the hosting local of the next PRES2 2009

The next PRES2 is scheduled for spring 2009 and will take place in the wonderful city of Krakow! Among the four applications for the hosting local of the event, the application from AEGEE-Krakow was the most convincing. The decision was taken by the AEGEE-Academy with the support of the PRES2 concept development team. It is planned to hand in a Youth in Action application for the 1st of november deadline.
Currently, AEGEE-Krakow estabishes a team and soon the communication with the team will start!
Congratulations for AEGEE-Krakow and many thanks to all other applicants!! The choice was not easy, but we think we choose the best location for the event.
PRES2 is an advanced training course on public relations for European projects, working groups and future PR-Directors of the Comité Directeur. It is organised by the PRWG in cooperation with the AEGEE-Academy.

Veronica Zagar appointed as new Editor-in-chief for the Key to Europe 08/09

Veronica Zagar from AEGEE-Ljubljana will be the next editor-in-chief of AEGEE's most important publication, the Key to Europe. Veronica was informed by the Comité Directeur about the result of the selection process. The CD decides upon the editor-in-chief, supported by the opinion from the PRWG. The communication process will start soon and the new work for a new Key to Europe can start!
Congratulations Veronica and many thanks to all applicants! PRWG is looking forward to a great cooperation and an excellent Key to Europe 80/09.
The Key to Europe is AEGEE's yearbook and published on an annual basis reflecting AEGEE's results and achievements of the previous year. It is usually published in spring every year and distributed to its members as well as to stakeholders outside of AEGEE.
